Rabbi Levin was invited to speak at the San Jose City Council meeting Where the council issued a proclamation recognizing the Survivors of the Holocaust, A number that sadly shrinks from year to year. Both the City of San Jose and the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors are very active in the recognition of those who survived one of the most horriffic events in history. Over half of the Jewish population in the world at the time were singled out for extermination. Jewish populations throughout Europe were liquidated, some on the spot, others in the infamous concentration camps. Either way their goal was the extermination of every Jew in the world BUT somehow we survived, broken, for sure but we survived. Now seventy years later our population is close to the pre WWII levels but we have thrived. Look at the contributions made by Jews to the world, Look at how many NOBEL Prizes earned and best of all, look at our historical homeland, brought back to a living, thriving country where Jews are safe. Here is The RAV teaching Torah to the audience.
